If you overheard your friend planning something, would you join them?
This little thought sparked my next comic featuring Kip and Fishman! It’s been a fun experience so far! In comparison to my last two comics (Kip and A Brief Swim), this comic is a lot more organized and planned out.
With the previous comics, they were quick thoughts that I immediately put into drawings with the hopes of them turning out okay. This comic started off the same way, but then I realized Kip and Fishman were going to be talking more than I had initially thought. There was no way I’d be able to plan the panels without a script to help guide me.
I’ve planned out all the panels and where everything should roughly be. I’ve gotten to the point where I now have to clean up the sketches and start doing some line art on Procreate!
I’m hoping to finish this project by the end of March, or mid-April in time to print them out for TCAF. This year I got waitlisted again for TCAF, so I’m hoping to get off of it like I did last year fingers crossed.

In addition to this scheming plot, I’m also hoping to finish up a fantasy comic before TCAF. Right now, the only thing I have planned for this comic is that it’s just a series of stories to create some world building.
Who are these characters? What is the world like? What makes this a fantasy?
A lot of this is being fleshed out still. If you saw in my previous blog post https://stuffomaticblog.ca/2026/01/31/january-sketches/, I showed off some character designs for this world. Since then, I’ve been making small comics with all three of them with the help of my partner. At times, I feel like I’m not a great writer, especially when it comes to storytelling. Thankfully, my partner is amazing with coming up with ideas, and how plots should go.
Again hoping to finish at least a couple of comics for these series. It’ll be similar to my Kip one with the different stories coming together into the one comic. No singular plot just yet, but hopefully my partner and I can to continue their story.
