2025 in all honesty was such a roller coaster of emotions. I’m trying not to dwell on the lows, since there are a lot of things I am so thankful that I’ve experienced the past year.
In my personal life I was grieving the loss of my uncle at the beginning of the year, getting used to a working for a new company, debated about going back to school, and felt that there was too much change going on. It took a while for me to ground myself again… and then work threw another curveball and hit me square in the face.
Luckily my family and I had a vacation to the Philippines after that curveball, and my sister and I were able to go to Japan for 3 days too! It was a great time getting to relax and enjoy our time with our family there. After that much needed vacation, things picked up a little bit more.
Here’s a summary of everything else that happened last year:
Creating
Last year I focused more energy into my art and creating connections with those in the art community. Here’s a summary of what I made last year:
- 5 zines
- 1 comic
- 6 prints
- 7 stickers
It’s been a fun time creating and flexing that part of my brain. My brain keeps telling me that I didn’t make that much art, that I could have made more… but looking at these numbers, it’s not bad! Considering these are only the things I’ve published to sell, it’s not taking into account all the doodles and zines that I didn’t share to the public.

Artist Tables
From one table in 2024 to 7 tables in 2025!! I absolutely loved almost all the events we attended last year. My partner and I met a lot of people in the art community; it’s been great making mew friends who share a lot of similar interests as us!
There’s still a bit of imposter syndrome when I attend these events, or even just saying I’m a comic artist in general. I think it will always be there, but it’s lessening with each passing year.

Hobbies
Along side my increase in art stuff, I also embraced my hobbies as much as I could.
Fave video games:
- Roller Coaster Tycoon Classic
- My sister, my partner, my partners sister, and I ended up getting super addicted to this game the beginning of 2025. It consumed our free time as we got hit with nostalgia and theme park planning.
- Pokémon Legends ZA
- I mean… it’s Pokémon! At first I didn’t think I was gonna get this game since the trailers made it look meh (the graphics… not super great), but the gameplay itself is a lot of fun!! I love the new mechanics, even though I’m not the greatest at dodging, it’s still a fun time!
Fave books:
I primarily read comic books and graphic novels last year. They’re just easy to consume, and honestly my attention span has been decreasing as social media rots my brain. I’m working on it tho!
- It’s Lonely at the Centre of the Earth by Zoe
- Strange Houses by Uketsu
I also turned to building gundams after work. After a stressful work experience last year that lasted over two months, gundams turned out to be the main hobby to help me destress and to take things slow. It’s been a lot of fun learning new techniques to make them look even better (ex. panel lining and using certain tools).
It’s hard to believe my first ever gundam was bought on a whim because I remembered watching that particular gundam series growing up, and I felt the need to build something.

I am incredibly grateful for the year I had. It wasn’t great, but it wasn’t absolutely horrible… in hindsight, a lot of my stress can be attributed to work. Now I’m trying to save more money because I’m going back to school in September! I’ll be jumping back into Med Lab, but now I will be studying to become a medical lab technologist. I’m very excited, but also slightly scared to be going back to school. Hopefully it will all turn out well.
Thank you everyone for your support and for following me on my art journey! I’m so happy to have made so many new friends within the community in 2025!
I hope to get back into creating more blog posts on here to share my journey. I feel like I’ve lost my touch with writing now… it really is the phone 😂
Here’s to 2026 🥂
